RockFolk at full steam
Founded in 2008 the band "Off Limits" from Northern-Germany has forged their show with high pressure into Steampunk. It creates a world like Jules Verne and HG Wells imagined - in which the oil was never found.
Steam and electric power drives everything. Instead of plastic our everyday objects are made of wood, metal and glass. The ideas and the unusual design of Steampunk are taken up and continued by "Off Limits".
The music also links the old and the new.
In revived traditionals and strong original compositions "Off Limits" oscillates the roots of folk and the energy of rock to a dynamic Tesla-field. They left the well trodden path and found a different approach, which is... Steam Rock Folk.
The grooving Rock-section of the band is embellished by the versatile sounds of virtuoso violin, didgeridoo and shawm. Add these to the driving rhythms and melodies and the effect on the happy feet is immediate.
The resurrected traditional songs and band compositions link Folk-roots with Rock and Funk. Something new, yet instantly familiar.
This musical ‘offroader’ from Oldenburg will gladly guide you -dancing and singing- into Steam Rock Folk. There are no limits.
